Yorda Adventures – background info

Yorda Adventures Community Interest Company was set up in 2006.

We started with a tiny after school club a couple of days a week for Dysart School in Surbiton and this grew to Playschemes, Adventure Holidays and Family Days for children with disabilities and their families.

In 2016 we took on our own building to run all our adventures from and this is now called the ‘Yorda Playhouse’

We’ve always wanted to have a fun, safe space for children with disabilities to feel at home.

We also want a community where children without disabilities can come and play too.

We therefore run lots of different activities both through the holidays and term time for everyone in our community.

Some activities are exclusively for children or young people for disabilities

Projects like our Forest Adventures have majority of spaces for children without disabilities and a small number of places reserved for children with disabilities who need one to one playworker support.

We hope you come and Play soon – everyone is invited for fun!
